Weather Proofing of a Gable Elevation of a Traditional House
During a pre-mortgage inspection in Stalybridge, we noted damage to the gable elevation of a property which had a slate hung weather protection system installed.
The property is a traditionally constructed house of 225mm brick walls, with lime mortar joints, it was unclear at the time of the inspection, if the damage was due to storm damage or poor workmanship, as obvious repairs had been undertaken, using a fabricated type slate, which can be seen in the photograph.

lympic Construction were instructed to undertake the remedial works to the gable elevation, along with other works. Below is a photograph following the remedial works to the gable elevation of the house and walls of the workshop to the rear.
